Carlton Miller.bmpI told Ziggy I wound do this along time ago and i'm finally getting around to it. This engine was built for my friend Carlton from Canada. Ships out tomorrow buddy.

This is the specs of this motor:

    421 cc cub

    4mm 115 hotrods crank

    wiseco blaster pistons

cases are ported to match cub cylinder

    2.86 straight cut gears

    41mm KnT carbs

    delta force 3 reeds

    upp intakes

    196 ex

    130 transfers

    full drag port (stock hieghts)

cool head shell ( with custom 19cc domes )

    SCP small bore drags

    +6 degrees timming stock ignition

    ball bearing lock up.

The motor is alittle rich as you can see on the graph but nice and safe tune up for the dyno. This engine has a lot of usable power and will be very fast is the real world. As for the "custom dome" thing please don't ask cuz I'm not telling .

There's enough info here for anyone to have a really good running 4mm cub gasser.

I put this up to share some baseline information for the average guy looking for a solid set up. Have fun Carlton.

How can it be "as-cast" port timing, and be drag ported at the same time? J/K

The motor looks to be a fast setup: with over 2000rpm over 90hp it's going to outrun many 10mm cubs that don't as much usable power, even though they might boast a higher peak.

    Looks good!
"Usable Power" is the power that is available to use: how much power for how many rpm.

The torque curve is bad [censored]. The engine has a flat peak for 1000rpms The engine has killer over rev power. 85hp at 11k. Nice build mat

NICE!! Carries over 45ft/lbs for about 3K rpms. That's a graph that looks more like a single instead of a twin. Very fun power and a blast to ride as well. Like Nate said it will put the whooping to some unsuspecting bikes.

Why does this engine or pipe have so much power past peak?

This revs out to 11K and I see other dyno charts that look like they hit a wall under 10K

I wonder why someone would want a drag engine that only spins out to 9K, when they can have a engine builder or pipe combo make killer power all the way out to 11K

Is it the pipe or engine build?

To each his own. All engine builders have there own ideas on how an engine/pipe should perform on the dyno and in the real world. IMO its the combo of both. This is the reason for the " what i don't know about your dyno chart" and "how to read a dyno graph" and similar posts. Its clear the more people (that are really interested)learn about how to read a graph and how to dyno an engine the more they will see the conection to reality and be able to see beyond bogus internet information.JMO as always
