Hey guys first post over here...love the site and really hope it takes off.

Looking for some recomendations from some of the guys here. Running 16:1 comp and need a good
fuel for just drag racing. Rules dont allow any oxy gas so vp q16 is out. Just looking for the best bang for the buck.

I can get any of the vp fuels easily, Klotz fuels, and Turbo Blue Advantage. I was runnin Turbo Blue 110 in my 14:1 build. We tried running the 110 with the new 16:1 motor and we got some detination on the dyno. We stopped tuning at the point we heard it and ill be taking the motor out Monday to see if it hurt it.

Just looking for some of your oppinions guys. I appriciate the help.

with that kind of compression you probably need to run alky or try 117

Cannondale. 6mil stroker 505cc.

Made 64/40 on a dyno jet with the detonation on straight race gas. We couldnt get it fully tuned because when we heard the knocking we shut it right down. Should make 65-66 when we get it completly tuned, then hopefuly 67-68 on oxygenated. Even though at the main track i run at they dont allow oxy gas in my class, we are still gonna make a map for it.

C16 will probably be the easiest for you to find. C12 which is probably the easiest fuel on the planet to find is good to 15:1 which in my opinion would probably be fine for you (108 octane)...however, C16 would be the best fuel as it can handle 17:1 CCR and is rated at 117 octane. Also note that C16 has a higher specific gravity than C12.

5 Gallon pals of C12 are selling for around 65 bucks right now, and 75 bucks for c16 out here in California.

Also, this is a 4-stroke...not a 2-stroke. They don't perform on methanol like you'd think they would.

I ended up going with C14+. Works awesome and made the power we wanted without the detonation this time.
