What tranny 1-5 override?

If so on the tranny go 15-43
sorry.. yes 1-5 dunable tranny
Then i would start @ a 15-43 and 22" tires.
With my Quad calc program . With 421.28cc at 10000 rpm's 5th gear you'd do around 76mph at 8365 rpms with 15-43 gears.Sorry it won't calculate 300 ft.I'll check my other one. The other program needs alot more info.
With your tranny...you're going to want to leave in 2nd gear, and go through the traps at the end of 5th...
1st gear is worthless on a banshee in 300 feet...it's just too short.

Ask badassbanshee479 what he runs on his for 300 feet. He's got a good running FAST 4 mil cub.
I run 16/45...but I got a little more motor than you.
I used 14/40 on my stock chassis 4mil.. I'd trap @ 75mph about 3/4 way through 5th gear. 1-5 overide leaving in
2nd.
I am using 14-40 gearing as well but i just have a 350 and leaving in 1st and getting about 10' if that then snacthing 2nd.
12 paddle haulers...
may try my 12 pad extremes......
austin oneal just told me he ran a 14/40 on his drag ported 4 mil ...

41 is stock rear isnt it ?

im goin to try out the 15 tooth first... since i have it. should i leave the rear for now ?
I also ran 15/42 and had good luck with it...

so 15/41 shouldn't be bad..

41 is stock.. i think the first few years used 40's though and a different hub. not real sure on that one..
Just try it rico and see what it does.

Just so you know and don't waste any money, the difference between regular haulers and extremes is the blade thickness. They aren't any taller, just thicker so they don't fold over as easy. If you're going to buy another set of tires, go with more paddles AND extremes.

Best thing to do on gearing is pick a starting point and go run it, see where you're at when you cross the line. Make adjustments from there. Every bike is different, and I'm sure everyone in this post has a different weight, so what works for one may not work for you. I'm not trying to be a smartazz or anything, just telling you from experience. A lot of figuring out what's best for your setup is trial and error. There is no right or wrong gearing to run. Just have to get out there and test for yourself..

I agree 100% with bigboy.

And to add to that....

With 16/45 gearing at Bob's sand drags, our normal spot...my gearing is perfect for me....out of gear going through the traps...
At West Michigan (still 300 foot) I have enough gear to pull another 20 to 30 feet or so.

So...just because you gear it for one track....doesn't mean it will work at the next. Same could be said for paddles.
When you go to the races, the guys that have been in it a while...you'll notice they have a stack of tires and a stack of sprockets...

Very true! Different surfaces = different levels of traction...Every track is different to some degree, how deep it's cut, how heavy the sand is, how much water is put down...the factors are endless, lol

You can find a happy medium in there somewhere, where one gearing works well for multiple tracks, but your times/mph will vary slightly depending on the surface and prep done. You won't find a gearing that's perfect for everywhere you go.

I run 15-41 when the track is dry and or when I am in the dunes, and when the track is wet Iswitch to 15-44 or 45 pending on how wet it is and how hard the bike is leaving
