HI Temp black paint. PJ1 makes a nice paint for it.
I don't care what kind you use, you can plan on taking the pipes off once a year, re-sanding them and re-painting them.
Near the cylinders usually melts the paint/flakes it...the rest of the pipe is normally fine...
Yeah well it's still a coin flip right now i still have decided. I just wanna do something different than chrome. I got a idea up mysleeve but don't know if i wanna do it yet either.
i painted my old cpi's and they were ok... they had a flat black look. i was thinkin about tryin to find out if they do a black ceramic coat. ive seen a grey ceramic coat.. and it had a shine to it. u might look into that. i beliee it last pretty food as well.
I didn't use neither paint shown in the picture.. I forgot the brand but i picked it up at a hot rod shop and it was ceramic spray paint 1800 degrees. Here's what I used to clean the pipes from debris.. wiped them clean with acetoned and sprayed in light coates! You have to put them on the bike and warm them up to really bake it in.. Even the area by the exhaust port holds up fine!
