ok, how can I accurately determine my deck heighth of my motor? or is this something a builder would have to determine?

You need to measure how much your piston sticks out the top of the bore @ top dead center... this would be positive deck height, or how far the piston is down in the bore would be negative deck height. you can use calipers or even a feeler gauge, just measure from the edge of the piston to the top of the cylinder.

Id say, cylinders torqued down with gasket installed....measure from cases to top of cylinders........but that wont tell you how far in or out of the hole the piston is if thats what they really want to know.

Assembly the topend without a head with the proper torque on the cylinder base nuts and measure the timing edge of the piston to the top of the cylinder at top dead center. Don't measure the crown of the piston... Kelsey needs to know the deck height for the proper squish band. Make sure he knows what piston you are running.

shovle, what motor are you running? most builders can get the correct shuqish based off the base gasket thinkness and knowing what jugs your running. David NOSS cut my domes and got my squish right at 35 based off the base gasket and cutting for standard cub hieght
