Gas cap mods

Take 3 phillips screws out of cap. Take out ball bearing and throw away,drill vent hole a little bigger. I then put metal plate back on for splash protection. Note your tank will leak gas if the bike is tipped over but this mod will keep you from having a vacuum and running a bowl dry.

I drill out the vent tube to 1/8 ".
I also put a bolt in the vent tube to seal it when not running the bike...every little bit helps fight moisture in meth.

Are you running methanol...or just gas?

hmm take off plastic cap, throw in street, buy alluminum cap, screw on and go race..

Dune bike, 472 cheetah on gas with @ 103 HP. Are the aftermarket caps ALL set up to flow nice or do they need to be modded to? Do I need to do it for this motor if I'm on gas?

Bolt one on and you'll be fine.

Some of the aluminum cap have a pretty small hole, may need to drill it out a bit. Also as good as the lil aluminum breather caps look they do not flow just run a breather tube instead.

Oh ya forgot to warn of that too. Dont use the little billet no leak breather cap on the vent tube run the full tube and stick it under the bars just like stock. A friend had one of those and it got clogged and burned up an A/S alky motor.

Thanks guys, I took the cap apart and drilled everything out to a nice large size. All the balls got tossed and the holes are now bigger. I even drilled out the vent tube hole. I'm running the full length of stock vent hose. I've got another stock cap that I'll put on for loading and transport.

That's how I roll......first the balls are flyin' then I'm jammin' my bolt in the hole....I don't bother to find a hole my bolt fits....I just make the hole fit the bolt. LOL Well at least I've prevented any fuel starvation. But now thanks to YOUR advice, I think I need a Penicillin Shot.......LOL. Thanks guys.
