Man I want to know something? I was at drags this past weekend & I saw a few guys out there like Duckdragger & few others that are running rear sprockets that look like they come from Domino's Pizza.. Those things are huge!! what is this all about?
I know Duck runs a tripple , but why so much rear gear? just curious...
huge motors pull so much harder that if they were geared way down they would sit and spin at launch and then about 4 feet into the track they would be put of gear
it is because a atv has primary gears , that reduces the gear ratio . if you r 1to1 in high gear in a atv it is reduced by the primary gears, even before the Chain reduction . a snomo powered atv , when it goes to 1to1 there is no primary gear reduction . if it was geared like a ATV it wold be geared to run 150 mph . or if it was a banshee based triple ,they probably changed the primary gears, to a higher ratio. for they can run a bigger sprocket on the back . this is a trick some do, to Gain more torque .without loosing top end
