I'm no alky guru at all but you do not go by color on alky. You go by the burned plating on the flat base of the threaded part of the plug. You need to start with new plugs/plug. If it's really wet of course it would be rich. If it's burned 1/4 of the way around the base it's slightly rich. You want it to be burned 180 degrees or basically burned from "9 oclock" to "3 oclock" with the ground strap at the top being "12 oclock". If it's burned all the way around and probably very dry it's lean.
