what is everyone doing to seal there out of frame exhaust? I can't keep my small bore shearers from getting oil all over the cylinders and frame ....any ideas ?

I responded to your post on bhq...


"I dont even bother with orings any more, i use hi temp RTV and put a nice bead inside the pipe where the oring sits and another on the exhaust flanges near the ends of them. let both dry and put the pipes on."

i use the oring's , i coat them real good with a coper based high temp silicone and slip them on the flange. then i put silicone on the flange and in the pipe flange ,then i let dry to a tack .then i put the pipe and springs on and let fully dry for about 48 hrs . never Had any problems leaking even with a turbo, and it creates allot of back pressure in the pipe. just like ( bansh- eman ) stated silicone is the way to go

Buy new orings...
I've never had a problem with mine, put a little RTV on them to help seal AND slide them over the exhaust mount.
Double up the springs if you need to to hold them on tight...

I just use alot of black silicone and be done with it,,with that and my short springs they dont move hardly at all.

Has anyone looked to get a thick oring for the inside of the flange?

the only thick ones i could find were too big around .....
