I like the type of plug that throws a little spark now and then.

Plug heat range won't change your jetting, it's only refers to how much heat the plug holds. not how hot the fire is inside the combustion chamber. If your plug was not burning off the combustion deposits and fouling out, a hotter plug could help. If you are running your motor on the ragged edge of too lean and getting some detonation from the plug staying hot and acting like a glow plug, a colder plug could help. If the porclain is clean but not cooked shiny, changing the plug heat range isn't the right answer.
