I will be getting my cylinders back in the next week or so everything I need to put the motor together. Gonna be a stock 4mil drag port 36pwk's on alky. I have a slingshot lockup but no override, just curious if you guys know how this thing will shift? Or if I should leave the lockup out of the picture until I do get an override?

will shift if you let off the gas,

you try to powershift it, it might but wont be very well or smooth.

get a duneable.

Its going to be 99% drag. Trust me I want a duneable and know thats the best way to go just dont have the cash with the holidays coming up.

To be honest....leave the lockup off it till you can get an override.
They shit like poo to begin with, putting more pressure on the clutch and increasing the HP only makes that more evident.

It's easy for all of us to spend your money, but...dunable override is the way to go to be honest.

Lockup and override is like PB & J.

Second on the leave off the lockup till the override. If you have a modded shift star it might shift ok for you with the clutch. Mine wouldnt shift about 1/4 of the time with the stock star. With my duneable I can just bump the shifter and it clicks into the next gear under full throttle. Get a duneable after xmas.

That is probably best. However, I could shift my 421 fairly easy with no override, though I was very inconsistent. I could run beside, and occasionally beat similar Banshees with overrides. This was not at the track however, but just dune racing about 500 ft or so, where you have room to catch up if you got smoked out of the gate. Never raced it 300 ft on a real track without an override.

once you get a override ,you ll nevr want to go back to shifting again. its a must for drag racing.
