Tecate reving up on kick over

Tecate reving for no reason. Help if you have any ideas..
I pulled the top end to clean power valve and replace rings, put it back together and as soon as she kicks over it revs all the way up. I replaced the reeds and when that didnt work I pulled the carb off my kx and swapped them, same thing.
I am at a loss, could the power valve cause it to rev up if I installed it out of sinc or something?

Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere. Do a leak down test and you should find your faulty surface.
as kool stated sounds like an air leak ,Id check something simple as looking and making sure the slide isnt open on the carb for some reason maybe your adjustments are off on the slide first tho
I had a similar problem and found out that I had a crack in the intake boot or the carburator holder; as Kawasaki calls it. Sounds like an air leak or maybe a bind in the throttle cable.

Good luck.
Get some carb cleaner, start the bike up and spray it all around the intake first, then the base gasket.

If the bike goes to die out or RPMs drop....you found the leak. Intakes are probably the most common area for leaks, followed by crank seals (you need a leak down tester to test those)
