Tires for a 7mil cub?

4028 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  RJATV
I usually run at WMSD in Silver Lake which is a sand/clay mix and the 12's just aint doing the job. Looking for ideas of what some have used or had there best times with. So far I've realized my 60's have fallen but the mph and times have increased with the new frame. Best time so far is 4.06 at 78mph with a 60' of only a 1.56. Any ideas?

Thanks

I used to run 72+ro 13 extremes on a 7mm stock cylinder and i weigh 220+. I think with it being a cub i would do some 13 or 14 extremes
the more paddle you have it will take away from your top end.Id say unless your running a strictly sand track you are not going to get much faster times then those. Those are good times. There is alot more to do with the hook then just tires.Your lockup, your swingarm length.IF you want to run more paddle chances are your 60ft will get better and your mph and or et will get slower
im with kane i run 14 extremes on my 443. ive had no trouble
I run 22" 14 extremes in a 12x12 suspend chassis and also run some 24" 14 staggered extremes.

My 60's with the staggereds are lower like low 1.4's and about mid 1.4's with the 22" 14's.
ok ya im going to start with the lockup. I've tried some 14 extremes and i seen to blow them off as well so maybe i should look into some staggereds. I appreciate your info guys. I'll let ya'll know if i have made any improvements.
i would say u may even be able to go a little more than that for paddles... Ray (Banshee(911)) is runnin 14 rippers, and he is runnin consistent 3.9's and has run a low 3.8 once... he "only" has a 4mill cub, but his is runnin like a raped ape, and continues to get faster with setup tweaking

Ok i am going to a bigger and much more paddle. Yesterday I had tried a set of 16 staggered extremes with a 15/46 gear setup and it hooked like crazy!! Next race for me is Oct. 16-17th in Ionia so that will be the real test. I'm hoping this works!!
14 extremes on our 443 work great.May try a staggered next.
At the Ionia race i had them staggered's pulling a 1.47 60'. That's the hardest my bike has ever pulled! I now went to a 14 staggered ripper....i hope the lil 7mil has enough for them big dogs!

Were you launching in 2nd or 1st with 15-46?
