My buddy accidently took a little piece out of my flywheel can i still use it or should i just get anew one?

could cause a problem with the balance.. but.. I'm not a 100% sure.. Have it lightend and balanced.. should be fine I would think.

That's the thing to have it lightened and balanced i could just get a new stock flywheel and run that. Are you running a lightened flywheel?

I run a lightend flywheel on my bike.. I think I piad $50 to have LRD lighten it about 5yrs ago.

Blend it out and run it. No sharp corners and youre fine.

Shake it...make sure you don't hear any magnets broken up inside.
Smooth it...run it.

Ricky Stator has them for $125.

Even when they are lighten. It's not worth it.

I have seen guys loose there ankles to there toes.

I wouldn't own another Ricky Stator product if he gave them to me, and offered to pay for it...
Their Stators are junk. Unless he wanted to travel and replace/work on my bike for me...forget it.

I'd rather find a used on from a forum member or take a chance on a fleabay flywheel then get a new RS piece of junk....

RS stuff might have been good back in the day, their cheap, Chinese metals have ruined their product.

Chinese metals? Where do you think Yamaha gets there metal from?

I run a RS stator on my asphalt dragger. DM 20mm 710cc. Never a problem.

Absolutely positively will not recommend Ricky Stator products anymore. Between their stators that fail way too often, flywheels missing any hint of balancing, and the stator plates made from pop cans- no more. Ive had too many problems to ever ever ever use their stuff again.

In the past, I would say have it lightened, but after this happened to me a couple months ago, I'm sticking with stock weight. This was NOT shaved down too much (done by a well known, reputable person), had it for almost 5 years before it took a dive...halfway down the track and POP, snap, crackle, backfire, lol. I was real lucky it didn't come apart any more

I would get another stock weight flywheel

cody , i run a lightened flywheel...... just make sure its done right. make sure they dont drill holes in the side either.... my buddies seperated because of that. i ve never had a prob with mine. i do have a extra flywheel if u cant find one (unlightened). i really dont want to sell it, but if u cant find one.. hollar at me.

damn travis... thats crazy.. ive never seen one split like that !!! thats kind of how my buddies split, but it didnt have that big chunk peeled back

And I have also seen pictures of rivets coming loose, breaking, etc. with RS flywheels...

NO thanks... OEM works just fine.

Yes please i don't want to run a lightened wheel i don't think it does anything either and i'd rather the insurance of a stock oem wheel more than anything. Bobby if you want this wheel make an offer i don't know how much a damaged flywheel runs just wait for Rico to give me a price on the one he has and we'll all three work something out. Sorry Rico can i get that one from you?
