My borther has a King Quad 4x4 that he uses at his deerlease. He dam near ran it out of oil, so he changed it all out but ow the clutch is slipping. I figured it would once he added new fluid becasue he burnt the hell out of it I'm sure. I see that the clutch pack is very simiar to the banshee pack, but it also has a centifigual clutch with three pads and springs becasue it doesn't use a clutch. Which of these is more likely to be the culprit to the motor slipping? I am going to try and get some used parts for him to rebuild it.

Thanks Radar. I will have to check it out.

Edit: I checked out DK and they only had the clutch pack fibers. You know of a place that I can get a cheap rear clutch setup? I was thinking of just grabbing a used one off ebay if his is shot.

I looked at one of those OEM things and it showed 8 fibers and 7 steels. But it only had one listing for fibers. I am going to try that adjustment screw you talked about first. He is going to bring the quad home after hunting season is done and replace it all then, assuming it doesn't break down before then. It's a 99 and he only paid like 1800 bucks for it like 7 or 8 years ago so even if the thing locks up and falls into a million peices he got his use out of it. I just noticed it was slipping really bad when it's cold while we ride to the stands to hunt.

That's the same kit I told him to buy. And then we would take a look at the other rear clutch. They are pretty much the same thing we used to use when we raced gokarts.

Yea his has been running for 10 years with minimal maintance. Although he doesnt romp it or anything. Just uses it on the deerlease.
